A distant whistle announces the imminent arrival of the late running 2.10pm service from Yeovil to Chippenham via Trowbridge and Melksham. Two platform staff assist a party of First Class passengers who are to travel on this train.
On the down platform we see the arrival of the 2.50pm Westbury and all stations to Weymouth service behind "River" Class 2-4-0 No.72 "Exe".
In the East Somerset Bay "517" Class 0-4-2 Tank No. 1434 waits to depart with the 3.30pm service to Shepton Mallet, Wells, Cheddar and Yatton.
